In an interview with Real World Radio, Daniel Libreros analyzes the richness of the discussions at the Peoples Congress and its potential outcomes.

Professor Daniel Libreros talked about the importance of the Congress in a moment when the national government has presented neoliberal economic proposals. He also made reference to the importance of the debate on Territories, since the Colombian government has granted to foreign corporations a large part of the territory of the country.

“The territories are becoming the axis of accumulation of wealth by the transnational capital”, said Libreros, who also highlighted the opportunities of exchange and socialization allowed by peoples´ meetings.

Libreros also pointed out that the struggles should be joined instead of fighting for representing the social movement and that this is the time for the social and sectoral struggles to be unified.

“The pragmatic political issues are urgent against what´s coming in this country”, said Libreros, highlighting the horizontality and alternative methods implemented by the Peoples Congress and calling for a “recomposition of the subjects of resistance”.
